A Review of CCISD’s Bond Projects
Since 2008, CCISD’s school bond program has enabled the district to build nearly 20 new school buildings and significantly renovate many others.
This year, Corpus Christi ISD’s trustees approved placing a $135.4 million bond proposal on the Nov. 5 ballot. The measure would not affect residents’ tax rate.
New Carl O. Hamlin Middle School
The new Hamlin Middle School is scheduled to open in August 2025, replacing the old building with a state-of-the-art campus that provides modern facilities for our students.
The new building will include:
o 750 student capacity
o 154,604 square foot facility
o 22 classrooms
o 2 collaboration spaces
o Fine arts wing dedicated to choir, drama, orchestra, and band
o 3,535 sq. ft media center
o 5,370 sq. ft cafetorium
o Competition and practice gym
o 1,745 sq. ft weight room
Security features:
Main entry security traffic bollards, secure entry at vestibule and at all exterior doors, security system, intrusion detection, vape detection and video surveillance.
New middle school in the south side of the city
A new middle school campus designed to meet the growing needs of our community will welcome students in August 2025. The 158,926-square-foot facility will accommodate up to 900 students and will be located near Creekside Elementary School at Starry Road and Yorktown.
The new building will include:
o 26 classrooms
o 2 collaboration spaces
o Fine arts wing dedicated to choir, drama, orchestra, and band
o 3,407 sq.ft. media center
o 5,370 sq. ft. cafetorium
o Competition and practice gym
o 1,745 sq. ft. weight room

Main entry security traffic bollards, secure entry at vestibule and at all exterior doors, security system, intrusion detection, vape detection and video surveillance.
T.G. Allen Elementary School renovation
The renovation and expansion of T.G. Allen Elementary School combined its student body with that of George Evans Elementary School. Major renovations were completed, along with the addition of a 14,000-square-foot and renovation of current building campus.
New Weldon Gibson Elementary School
Thanks to the support of Bond 2020, we have replaced the old Weldon Gibson Elementary School with a new campus on the same site, which is now fully operational and welcoming students.
The new building includes:
o 500 student capacity
o 67,500 square foot facility
o 27 classrooms
o 3 collaboration spaces
o 3,550 sq. ft. media center
o 3,400 sq. ft. cafeteria and
o 2,800 sq. ft. adjoining multipurpose room
o Security features: Main entry security traffic bollards, secure entry vestibule, security system, intrusion detection, video surveillance, automatically locking classroom doors and security doors in main corridors

New Cullen Place Elementary School
The Cullen Place Elementary School campus was built thanks to the support of Bond 2020. Construction of this state-of-the-art facility was completed in summer 2023 and is now fully operational.
This modern campus joined students from the now-closed Meadowbrook, Montclair, and Woodlawn elementary schools into one new facility. The contemporary building maximizes natural lighting, features collaborative workspaces, and accommodates modern technology.

New Creekside Elementary School
The construction of Creekside Elementary School was made possible by voters' approval as part of Bond 2020, and the school began welcoming students in August 2024. The contemporary building maximizes natural lighting and features both indoor and outdoor collaborative workspaces, along with modern technology.
