CCISD 2024 Summer Programs
Elementary School
CCISD elementary summer programming will serve students who did not demonstrate mastery of content throughout the traditional prior school year. This program will give students an additional opportunity to master the essential skills and content from the prior grade level, reducing their achievement gaps, and helping prepare them for a successful subsequent school year in the next grade. This instruction is targeted to focus on the most critical TEKS and will be delivered using best-practices, and engaging instruction in small group settings.
Middle School
CCISD middle school summer programming will consist of humanities and STEM instruction. Humanities will focus on a relevant overarching topic, and students will answer an essential question through grade-level critical inquiry and information literacy. Our middle school students will learn how to be digital citizens while being engaged in authentic literacy and real-world experiences. STEM will focus on design projects that allow students to use their knowledge of grade level math and science standards in real-world engineering scenarios.
High School
CCISD high school summer programming will offer credit recovery, STAAR EOC prep courses, and credit acceleration. In credit recovery, high school students who earned below a 70 in a high-school credit course will be given the opportunity to recover that credit. Students who did not successfully pass their STAAR End-of-Course assessments, required for high school graduation, will have the opportunity to participate in a EOC prep course before taking the STAAR assessment again in June. Students who with to earn credits through acceleration can do so in the summer program, but there is a cost associated with credit acceleration.
