Mireles Elementary recently learned their video about their designation as a National Showcase School under the Capturing Kids Hearts program was selected as one of four best videos in the nation. Corpus Christi ISD has more than 20 National Showcase Schools, honoring their exemplary work in creating safe and welcoming environments.
District staff and representatives from Capturing Kids Hearts visited each Mireles classroom to celebrate the news with music and goodie bags for each teacher.
Proud principal Carolyn Bence expressed gratitude for this recognition. "Often times teachers aren't recognized for the hard work that they do, and students aren't always recognized for the hard work that they do," Bence said. “It’s good to take the time to celebrate them.”
