Leon Avelar was honored as Teacher of the Month at today's Corpus Christi City Council Meeting. He has worked for CCISD for 18 years, teaching 7th and 8th grade history. '
"My aspirations for the future of our students is for all students to have a solid foundation in government, economics, and history so they have an understanding of how the world works and how they can play an active role in shaping it."
